Non - Registered Patients

Everyone can attend the GHAC. For example, if you work in Gloucester but live elsewhere, you may find it convenient to attend the GHAC for some health care. You will remain registered with your own GP as normal. We do encourage you to make an appointment for your own convenience to reduce any waiting time, as this can be long during busy periods

Injured or Ill, not sure what to do?  Use the new ASAP app.

The NHS in Gloucestershire has launched their ASAP (Choose Well) public information campaign. The campaign targets adults and parents of young children with advice on what to do if they are ill or injured and are unsure where to turn. The promotional material encourages them to check out the App, Search the website, Ask NHS 111 or visit their Pharmacy.

The ASAP website and App allows users to ‘Search by Service’ or ‘Search by Condition’ – providing a step by step guide through symptoms, self care and signposting to the appropriate NHS service/s. They can also find opening hours and service location information. As well as on-line options, the public can call NHS 111 for advice, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and they can visit their pharmacy for advice on whether or not they need to use other NHS services.

Local GP and CCG Governing Body member, Dr Caroline Bennett said: “It can be difficult sometimes to know where to turn for help when you are ill or injured, but it’s not a life threatening emergency. Now, local people will never be without timely advice on what to do. This campaign – including its headline message and supporting resources should make a real difference in helping people to access important health advice when they need it most.”

The high profile campaign will include targeted social media advertising, traditional media, distribution of promotional material, outdoor advertising and outreach (e.g. schools).

Local people are encouraged to add the website to their favourites and download the App free from the App store (ASAP Glos NHS).
